Pacifica Housing Services

A home off of the streets and meaningful social and health services help people to resolve issues and gain skills they need to maintain a tenancy and to improve their lives.

Housing outreach and support services are provided to individuals who are currently homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. These services are available through the Downtown Outreach Services office located at 826 Cormorant Street and include Housing Outreach, Community Support and Private Market Partnerships.

Housing Outreach

Housing Outreach Workers (HOWs) work one on one with individuals who are currently homeless or struggling to find permanent housing. HOWs secure appropriate housing and provide relocation services.

Community Support

Community Support Workers (CSWs) work intensively with a specific caseload of housed clients to manage mental illnesses and/or addictions issues and other barriers to maintaining stable housing. These clients are individuals housed in the private market through Pacifica Housing or tenants who are living in Supported Housing complexes managed by Pacifica Housing.

Private Market Partnerships

Private market partnerships are innovative agreements between Pacifica Housing, BC Housing, the Vancouver Island Health Authority and landlords in the private market. These partnerships encourage independent community living for clients requiring on-going supports and provide an alternative to subsidized housing.

Tenants are selected through an intake process with housing outreach staff and integrated into apartment buildings throughout Greater Victoria.

Pacifica Housing prides itself in having established solid working relationships with an increasing number of private market landlords and effectively engaging and educating the broader community regarding issues surrounding homelessness.
