A home off of the streets and meaningful social and health services help people to resolve issues and gain skills they need to maintain a tenancy and to improve their lives.

Housing outreach and support services are provided to individuals who are currently homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. These services are available through the Downtown Outreach Services office located at 826 Cormorant Street and include Housing Outreach, Community Support and Private Market Partnerships.

The "Growing our Gardens, Growing Ourselves" is a community garden initiative currently operating at three of Pacifica Housing's complexes. Resident gardeners work with a coordinator and are involved in all aspects from constructing planting boxes through to weeding and sowing.

Developed with funding from the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Initiative

Local seniors volunteer and lead culinary and cultural activities with tenants at Clover Place (an 18-unit supportive housing project for individuals who have been chronically homeless). The program celebrates cultural diversity and promotes a relaxed environment for learning and sharing.

Pacifica Housing's Peer Support Work Program fosters a sense of pride in home & surroundings, encourages social interaction, develops and strengthens life skills and promotes vocational skills preparing tenants for work in the mainstream labour force.

Pacifica Housing is a founding member of Stepping Stones for Families. Stepping Stones offers Ready to Rent classes to families who have trouble finding and/or keeping their housing and Tenant Support Workers offer one on one supports as needed.  The classes help families understand what both landlords and tenants require to get, maintain and keep affordable, appropriate housing. Topics covered include: budgets, tenant/landlord rights and responsibilities, communication skills, and housing priorities.

Pacifica continues to collaborate on the Streets to Homes pilot as a member of the Greater Victoria Coalition to End Homelessness. The project is a pilot program based on the “Housing First with Supports” model, which aims to move 120 people directly from homelessness to permanent market housing and provide customized supports to help them stay there.

A joint partnership between Pacifica Housing, Coast Capital Savings Credit Union and the United Way of Greater Victoria.  Weekly group sessions are facilitated at a number of Pacifica’s family complexes and are based on the internationally renowned Virtues Project.
